TIPS FOR BETTER STEERING
#1. Make sure trim tab is set as shown below. This will counteract the rotational torque of the propeller.
#2. Install Link arm to the outer connecting point.
#3. Some models have a friction screw.
Make sure it is NOT Tight.
#4. Adjustment of tilt/trim pins.
#5. Motor Height (You may need dealer assistance). The cavitation plate on the outboard should be nearly level with the running pad of the boat.
#6. Motor support is Recomended. If you do not have a motor support, make sure the steering lever is in Full Forward Position while transporting.
7. Check Steering Equipment Regularly. The control lever is manufactured as a straight control lever. Do Not attempt to redesign, refabricate or bend control lever. If your lever becomes bent, Replace it!!! 8. Do NOT overgrease output ram. A light weight machine oil is better! Grease tends to work its way into the core section of the cable and over a period of time will dry out and your cable will become stiff. 9. Always wear a personal floatation device. 10. Always connect kill-switch before starting engine.
